China threatens Canada with "grave consequences" after arrest & planned extradition of Huawei's CFO Meng Wanzhou

When China's official news agency comments, you can assume it's channelling the voice of Beijing's top officials. 

 

So Xinhua's attack on Canadian premier Justin Trudeau for "letting this nasty thing happen" and expressing upset at the surprise arrest of Sabrina Meng Wanzhou, can be presumed to be a serious threat. 

 

The Chinese summoned Canadian ambassador John McCallum on Saturday to lodge a “strong protest” and demand Meng's immediate release. 

 

If Ottawa, doesn't comply, Beijing warns of "grave consequences" for “hurting the feelings of the Chinese people."
