Former CIA director says democratically elected US president should be opposed when going against national security policy favoured by establishment

John Brennan, former director of the CIA, has agreed with an assessment that President Donald Trump presented a “clear and present danger” to the US’s national security.
“The actions, and the policies, and the statements that Mr. Trump has been making undermine our national security,” Brennan said.
He makes clear his concerns are based on Trump’s “policies,” one Twitter user notes. And another stresses the “importance of the elected president determining dangers to national security, not unelected national sec officials.”
