At the apartment building where State Sen. Brad Hoylman, who is Jewish, lives in Greenwich Village, the swastika appeared on an elevator the week after Donald Trump was elected president.
Since then, swastikas have popped up with alarming regularity, law enforcement officers and residents note.
In New York City, with the largest Jewish population of any city in the world, swastika incidents skyrocketed 76 percent.
