Russia designs nuclear-powered SUBMARINE icebreaker to help extract Arctic mineral resources

Design bureau Malachite that develops Russian navy nuclear powered submarines has presented a 82 meters long vessel with ice-breaking capabilities.
A special bow and strengthened hull will help the submarine to navigate through 1.2 meter thick ice in surface position. The vessel can work safely beneath the ice without worrying about waves or moving ice on the surface. 
Fields of operations: oil and gas subsea installations and potential future extraction of other mineral resources to be mined from the Arctic sea floor.
