UN climate summit emits more carbon dioxide than 8,200 US homes do in a year (not even including air travel)
Katowice's $130 million UN climate summit will give off as much carbon dioxide, over a few days, as 8,200 US homes emit from electricity use, in a whole year. Or 11,700 cars driving for twelve months. And that's before the air travel of participants is factored into the equation.
Already controversial for the choice of coal-guzzling Poland as host, these numbers will only heighten perception of the UN as a hypocritical institution.
